The Roman Scorpion set from the IMPERIUM ROMANUM series from COBI is a perfectly reproduced precision-guided machine, ready to fight Rome's enemies. What was a scorpion? A scorpion was a small machine used to fire projectiles resembling medieval crossbow bolts. It was extremely precise and effective, so enemies were often terrified by its presence on the battlefield. For a war machine, the scorpion was small and light, and therefore easy to transport – which is why each Roman legion had approximately 60 of them. Scorpions could be operated by a single person and were incredibly effective at close range. It was characterized by extremely high accuracy – hitting a man-sized target at about 100 meters, and from that distance, a projectile fired, approximately 1 meter long, penetrated shields or armor. Advantages of the Roman Scorpion set: High-quality workmanship   – The set is characterized by high precision and attention to detail. Importantly, the set does not include traditional stickers, only high-quality prints, ensuring durability and a perfect appearance of the model for years to come. Mini diorama and other accessories   – Additionally, the scorpion comes with a mini diorama, a Roman legionary and a barrel for javelins. All these accessories make the set attractive both for play and as a display, part of larger scenes and dioramas. Arm yourself, set up your palisades, and position your scorpion – prepare ambushes and decide how the battle unfolds. In the world of blocks, you build history. In this case, the set includes: • A Roman legionary   – armed with a realistic shield (Scutum), sword (Gladius), armor (Lorica Segmentata), and helmet (Galea), ready for battle and defense. • A scorpion model  equipped with three javelins ready to fire. • A fragment of a Roman entanglement   – a small but attractive mini diorama with sharpened stakes driven into the ground to protect the scorpion and legionary. Legendary effectiveness! The scorpion was most likely invented by the Greeks, although it was the Roman legions that made it famous throughout the ancient world! The Romans began using scorpions around 50 BCE, making excellent use of them during their campaigns. They were most often used for massed fire. Each legionnaire operating a scorpion could fire a shot every 15 seconds, meaning that by positioning such a weapon on a hill or other elevation the Roman army could fire 240 projectiles at the enemy in one minute! It's not difficult to imagine the effect of such fire – especially if it was concentrated within a small area. The Roman Scorpio set is a small but mighty step towards creating your own brick empire! It's an interactive history lesson, fun and collectible all in one.
