A Cinematic Legacy and the Ships That Forged a Legend In the world of Top Gun, everything begins and ends at sea—specifically, upon a mighty steel platform from which the Navy’s finest pilots take flight. The undisputed "star" of the film is the vessel portrayed by the USS Enterprise, the world's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. However, the magic of cinema required a little extra support. The production also utilized other vessels, which helped create a realistic, cinematic ship and, through it, create a dynamic portrait of life at sea for pilots: • USS Ranger (CV-61) – this is the very ship that "starred" in many of the on-deck scenes, ranging from the crew's daily routines to the tense preparations for launch. • USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) – used for spectacular aerial shots that continue to make a powerful impression to this day. It is thanks to these vessels that viewers could almost smell the aviation fuel and hear the roar of engines taking off—and now, you can build the very ship that will soon take center stage in your own collection! It all begins right here, right now—the story of construction and a return to one of the most iconic moments in action cinema. Every piece you assemble brings you closer to those scenes where pilots soar into the sky against the setting sun, and the tension mounts with every passing second. Don't wait!
